Is obesity a major health problem

Obesity is a major health problem around the world. The speed at which it is growing reflects that it is borderline out of control, and thus it must be assumed that is can only worsen. In the UK, there are millions of people who are either overweight or obese and many of them die prematurely due to obesity-related diseases.

Now a recognised medical condition associated to a wide range of diseases, obesity can be linked to heart disease, high blood pressure, arthritis, diabetes, indigestion, gallstones, and some cancers like that of breast and prostate. Obesity can also be linked to sleep problems in addition to stress, anxiety, and depression.
